Happy, Crappy and Creepy

Last week, when I needed an icebreaker for a meeting, one of my student workers informed me of a conversation starter known as Happy, Crappy and Creepy. Very basic instructions - What was the happiest, crappiest and creepiest part of your week?

So, here it goes...

HAPPY
I met Garth Brooks. And, he called me by name three times!

Did I mention that one of the times in which he said my name, it
was as he introduced me to his wife, Miss Yearwood?

Yes, yes he did.

CRAPPY
On Sunday, March 18, 2012 Ray passed away.

This picture was taken the first time I met Ray. At the age of 80, Grandma and Ray were newlyweds and invited me to Missouri to spend a week with them before I started summer school at Auburn. After visiting Silver Dollar City and dining on the Branson Belle, Ray insisted on buying this picture. I can remember how proud he was of this picture, and the joy on
his face as he handed me my very own copy.

Over the last 8 years, I consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to spend time with Ray. I am so thankful for everything he has done for me, my family and especially my grandmother.
Not to mention, every time I get a glimpse of my gold tooth...I will always think of him!

You will be missed.

CREEPY
In comparison to my other weekly events, a creepy experience did not stand out as much as the others. (I had multiple creepy experiences the week prior, mainly with people invading my personal space, but that was last week... )

This week, the best I could come up with was the creepy gas station attendant. Is it wrong for me to say that most of them are anyway? I just don't understand why someone who looked like they were 18 would repeatedly call me "Sweetie." Maybe he thought I was younger than I was. Unfortunately, I don't think I would have been flattered, unless it came from the Garth.

Let the Games Begin!

Yes, I bought a ticket to the midnight
showing of Hunger Games...

I am now starting to wonder what I was thinking...

However, I am going to go out on a limb right now, and
admit that I  like The Hunger Games series
more than the Twilight Series.

I am SO excited!

Sad but true.

May the odds be ever in your favor. Here goes nothing...

6 years later...

Today, my sweet little man turns 6!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVER!

I can't believe it was almost 6 years ago that Melissa and
I brought home a little Shih Tzu Mix.

Little did we know...

First adventure outside.

First nap at home.

This morning, I had the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to Oliver, as he enjoyed
his morning peanut butter chew. What a happy boy! (So grateful for Face Time!)

Not Nice.

My roommate is so sneaky. And mean...well, sometimes.

Ever since I finished my spring wreath, I should publicly admit that I have not stopped talking about my creative skills. And unfortunately, Jenna has had to hear the majority of my ramblings. I have repeatedly told her about the girls from Hobby Lobby who liked my wreath adornments so much, that they asked me to show them the exact same flowers that I was buying, so they could do the same. I have told her about my neighbors and their friends commenting on my past wreaths in the hallway. (Walls are thin.) I also told her how Monday night a lady at Michael's asked me where an item was, because first she thought I worked there, and then because it looked like I knew what I was doing.

Poor Jenna, right?

Wrong!

Yesterday, I was on my way out the door when a pink post-it note caught my attention. I was overjoyed, and ran back into the living room to see if Jenna had not noticed it when she came home. "Why did you not say anything," I asked. At this point, she was laughing, but I honestly did not think twice about it. "Someone else really likes my wreaths," I thought to myself." After a few minutes, she confessed...

She had a co-worker write the note!

Not nice Jenna, not nice.

Spring is here.

After a sarcastic comment from my roommate in regards to living in an apartment that does not have a season appropriate wreath, my wheels begin to turn...

After a field trip to Hobby Lobby, and a leisurely stroll down every isle, here is what I created!

So Sweet.

Some of you may already know about my friend Leigh Ann's Etsy shop, Sweet Auburn Studio, if not, you need to check it out right now. I am so proud of her for the success she has been able to achieve from her endless amounts of creativity and style.

With that said, I was taking a break from work yesterday when I decided to check out her shop to see if she had anything new, and look at what I found...

(I want one of EVERYTHING!)

When I called Leigh Ann to tell her how much I loved all of her new pieces, she said to me, "Guess what I just did?" She sent a package to Ree Drummond, yes...The Pioneer Woman, including just about one of everything is her store. I immediately made a pact with Leigh Ann that if Ree loved her pieces and wanted to invite her to the ranch, I would be her +1 guest.

Maybe my blog post will prompt a surprise delivery from Sweet Auburn Studio?

My trip to Nashville.

Hi. My name is Oliver. This past weekend, I got to go to Nashville to see
4 of my favorite people, and spend a night at Camp Tom.

Unfortunately, The ride to Nashville was a little scary.
There were strong storms that brought golf ball size hail!

The trip wore me out, so I slept most of Friday evening.

Saturday morning I woke up early and assumed the position for squirrel watch.

After Meghan and Melissa enjoyed their morning coffee,
they took me to check in at Camp Tom. I love Camp Tom!

As usual, Bea and Ellie played ball...

As I enjoyed an endless supply of peanut butter chews.

Sunday came too quickly, and it was time for me to pack up my toys.

See you next time, Nashville!

Ulterior Motives.

Last night, my roommate brought home fresh flowers.

This morning, she made me scrambled eggs with onions, spinach, tomatoes and goat cheese.

Did I mention that breakfast came after we went to the Y at 5:30 a.m. today?

As I was drinking my coffee and enjoying my homemade breakfast, she asked, "You know
why I am doing all of this, right? I am trying to convince you to move in with
me once I purchase a home."

Oh Jenna, you and your ulterior motives...I hate to admit it, but they may be working...

Day 5 - I think I am going to like this roommate situation!
